History

Sketch in the snowThe cottage was once the servants’ quarters to one of the large period residences surrounding Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens. It is understood to have been designed by Robert Rippon Duke, the same architect who created the famous Devonshire Dome in Buxton which when built was the largest dome in the world at 44 metres in diameter, and dates back to the late 1800’s.

Pete and Catherine Spriggs bought the property in 2012 and have fully renovated it to the highest standards to create a warm and welcoming base from which you can enjoy Buxton and the surrounding area.
